Chaminada
is a fiddle friend with nothing on her. Cecile
Chaminade (1857-1944) was a French composer who signed her
compositions C. Chaminade so she wouldn't face gender discrimination
from publishers. Her name appears similar to the word “chamois”,
the soft leather Chaminada is made out of. “Nada”
is the Spanish word for “nothing”. We think
our name for this Fiddle Friend is a clever pun!
