Joan Harrison is a dynamic and versatile musician who maintains an active teaching and performance schedule on both modern and baroque cello. She is currently is on the faculty of the University of Ottawa where she is also pursuing her PhD in education. Previously, Joan has taught at Carleton University, the Juilliard School, Princeton University, The Perlman Music Program, the United Nations International School and New York School for Strings. Previous positions have included principal cellist of the Aradia Baroque Ensemble, the Toronto Chamber Orchestra and assistant principal cellist of the New York City Opera Orchestra. Joan performs regularly in a duo with pianist, Dr. Elaine Keillor. Joan is also dedicated to promoting music education for young children. Along with developing products for the enterprising rabbit™, Joan publishes articles and presents workshops and lectures on issues related to education and music. During any spare time, Joan can be found cavorting with one of her numerous animals!
